Rosa Johan Uddoh 2019

This video is one in a series of performances where i perform big, rousing and desperate power ballads, notoriously sung by black women, on 'stages' I find in Britain's urban landscape. I've found that the neo-classical colonial architecture of Victorian institutions often lends me a stage. Here I sing in front of Tate Britain, London. By performing I am trying to illuminate and explore my simultaneous existence with the colonial histories of my country.
